AT&T ASE problem loss of connectivity to:
Westwood Robichaud HS
Henry Ford Academy
South Redford BOE
Van Buren Belleville HS
West Village Academy
AT&T experienced a problem in their ASE network that caused a loss of connectivity within their network. One of the three 10Gb circuits that provide service out of Wayne RESA was no longer passing data. The problem caused ASE service to drop to approximately one third of the ASE circuits across the consortium at approximately 2:30AM.
Wayne RESA staff manually re-routed traffic to the remaining two ASE circuits. Service was restored to those affected by 5:30AM.
There also was a loss of connectivity across the entire ASE network at approx 12:50PM for a few minutes. Perhaps while AT&T was working to resolve the problem.
AT&T found and corrected a hardware problem in one of their core switches.
Wayne RESA staff will reset ASE routes to the now working 3rd head end circuit here at Wayne RESA this evening at approximately midnight. Several districts will experience a momentary loss of connectivity at that time.
Sorry for the inconvenience. It was fortunate that the hardware problem was localized to allow us to manually reroute traffic to the unaffected circuits.
